Walking Hinsdale County
Lake City, San Juan Mountains, Colorado. 2011

The former intensive mining activity in this region has left a legacy of environmental damage such as acid mine drainage from tailing piles and water contamination in certain areas. The need for and use of metals in contemporary living implicates us all in the mining processes that continue to operate across the globe.
